The Legal Status of Escort Services Across Europe

Escort services in Europe, as in other continents in the world, are offered on an “it depends” basis. Most places around the world look at any form of prostitution with a disgusted face due to social conditioning. It is for this reason that most places around the world have either conflicting or different laws regarding the activity. European countries are one of the places where you’ll find different laws regarding escort services. It is, therefore, important that you know what to expect in a certain country when you find yourself in Europe, and in need (either providing or paying) of these services.

Don’t Expect These

In most countries in Europe, Brothels are illegal, loitering and soliciting are not tolerated, and pimping is also illegal. However, buying sex is legal in most of them. Buying sex is more of a one on one interaction compared to prostitution, which more often than not, involves a third party calling the shorts and collecting the money. Nonetheless, be aware that there are some European nations like Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Ireland, and France, where paying for sex is illegal, but prostitution is legal; I know, it is kind of confusing. This mostly applies to clients.

If you are familiar with escort agencies, then you must also be aware that these are well-organized institutions that offer well-organized services. Most escort agencies are well established and have a good reputation. This is true considering the amount of money that will be required from a client to spend even an hour with someone from one of these agencies. One of the signature traits of escort agencies nowadays is ensuring the safety of their escorts. That means a client will be served with someone who is kind, generous, and willing to ensure that he or she has fun and a good time, provided they respond in kind. That implies that escort services are different from mere prostitution.

Let Me Be More Specific

In the UK for example, prostitution is legal, which means that escort services are also legal. Nevertheless, activities like soliciting in public places, running brothels, pandering, and pimping are not tolerated. If one needs an escort, one may have to contact an escort agency like Cleopatra Escorts Gallery.

Escort services are legal in roughly 34 countries in Europe as far as 2018 is concerned. The number of countries may increase or decrease in the future. Here are the countries where escort services are legal in Europe:

And these are the countries where you won’t find favorable escort services, but buying sex is legal:

As you can see, countries where prostitution is legal, are where you’ll also find favorable escort services. But countries, where prostitution is not legal, buying sex, is the only option; a one on one basis, where the prostitute will offer the services on their terms. In such countries, the main idea is to eliminate third parties being involved in the interactions because often, it is the third parties who bring complications. It is one thing when someone wants money to earn a living and support themselves, and it is a completely different thing when someone is being forced against their will to engage in activities that they find unpleasant in any way, manner or form.

Some believe that prostitution is the oldest profession in the history of mankind. Whether that’s true or not is subject to debate. Nevertheless, it has been the goal of escort agencies to provide women and men who are disciplined, charming, interesting, knowledgeable, educated, and above all fun to be with to interested clients. Escort agencies were the first to attempt to create some sense of order and regulation to the concept of prostitution. Governments and the law have had to be involved because they are the supreme power and provide the best form of law and order. There is little that can be done when there is no supreme law that governs how things are done. But with such supreme laws in place, everyone feels protected, and indeed, is protected. These laws and regulations have been established to, first of all, protect the individuals who engage in these services, and ultimately to protect the entire nation; for a country is only as productive as the number of its productive citizens.

It is not necessarily a diplomatic or international relations article; it is just so that you know the legal status of escort services in Europe and their significance so that you are in a better position to determine where you are wanted or needed.
