I have a broadband internet connection and just kind of assumed that’s how most people connected to the internet too. Everyone I’ve ever known has pretty much had a broadband or dsl connection to access the internet. But what do people do who don’t live in large cities do for their internet?
Well apparently they use satellite internet, which essentially is like satellite tv.
They setup a satellite dish on your house and then use that signal to give you internet. I didn’t know much about satellite internet but I recently discovered that it’s a pretty big market for Americans. There are a few different providers but one of the companies I found that stood out the most was Satellite Broadband ISP.
They have pretty fast speeds, comparable to what I have now which is pretty good. The site claims they get speeds 4 times faster than DSL and for a reasonable price around $40. Which i’m paying more than that now for my internet connection. All in all, if I had to rate their service and internet speeds, i’d give them 4 out of 5 stars and would recommend them if you ever end up living in a rural area without a major internet service provider.
