Facebook has already taken over a fifth of all online users. That’s a lot of traffic but useless unless you know how to cash off on it. Do you know the next step after putting up your profile and picture?
Being an avid facebook user and lead generator from this site, I recommend your next activity be to expand your ‘friends’ circle to attract the people you’d like to work with. So where do you find them? There’s a ‘search’ bar on the top of facebook. Locate that and type your interest area in there. For instance, if I were to do this I’d type ‘network marketers’. A lot of “people”, “groups” and “pages” will show up.
Having got the options, open one of the pages / groups and scroll down to the place where they display the members / fans. Right-click to see them all in a new tab. This is the list of people who share your interest. How do you know? Because that’s why they had subscribed to this page to begin with!
Your task is to “Add as a friend” about 40-50 of them everyday. It takes about 10 minutes to do so. And while you do, copy-paste a one-line “personal message” that helps them associate with you. Else they will wonder about your motives behind befriending and you won’t start a relationship of trust. I use a line like, “Hi xxx, looks like we have xxxxxx in common! I specialize in teaching people to get profitable online and could put my 20 years of business experience to your good use. Let’s connect!” Obviously you’ll make relevant changes.
As you start getting friend acceptances you can message them or chat with them or invite them to other things you do on facebook. To make a good profile with all your interests specified is therefore key… so your friends can know you. And to select the right groups is also important to address the right target members.
The next idea is to join groups in your interest area. By doing so you can post stuff on the walls and discussion boards which other members would see and get drawn to your site. You could also create your own group (look for the button on top) and invite all your friends to it. The benefit of doing so is, you have a virtual following that will receive messages and links from you whenever you choose to post them. Name your group nicely so it invites interaction. Also send messages about once or twice a week.
Using videos and photos is facebook’s specialty. You can record a video directly or upload one from your computer. Having done so, you can tag it to people in your friends circle so it shows up on their profile pages. This makes your message visible to their friends. This is a very powerful technique but you must use it right to not appear to be a spam master.
The walls are another place you can attach links to your site and articles. Do make sure your links are valuable and you don’t turn people off with outright sales messages.
Further, by creating an event around anything in your business you get a chance to spread the message by viral means. Anyone can publicize and event once you develop and post it. Just ensure you give people stuff they like to see and read or relationships will go down the drain. Use facebook with ethics and watch your business bloom!
