With a new ASUS Transformer hitting the shelves, you may be wondering whether it lives up to the ASUS Transformer Prime. Here we compare the EEE Transformer Prime and its new cousin, the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300t.
Price. Well start with this metric right off the bat. The Transformer Prime is still pricier than the new TF300t, but you may get what you pay for. The TF300t is meant to be a midrange tablet, and help introduce customers to ASUS and to the Transformer line.
Camera. Both tablets have an 8 megapixel camera, but the Transformer Prime comes with a built in LED flash. They also have a second, front-facing camera, but that second camera is fairly worthless on both models of tablets and shouldnt be a deciding factor between the two tablets.
Hardware. Both devices use the Tegra 3 processor, enabling the tablets to be quick, especially compared to other competitors. This is the top of the line when it comes to processors in tablets right now.
Connectivity. Both are Wi-Fi enabled, but the TF300t allows you to turn the tablet into a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. Each of the tablets also have a full-size USB port and an HDMI port.
Storage. For memory, this is where the Prime really stands out ahead of the TF300t. The basic Transformer Prime comes with 32 GB of memory with a 64 GB optional upgrade, while the TF300t starts at the 16 GB model with the upgraded version having 32 GB.
If you have the extra money, you might want to spring for the ASUS Transformer Prime as it remains one of the most robust tablets on the market. However, if budget is your most important priority, you will still get a tablet that should meet your needs if you go with the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300t. Although both tablets should be able to handle all your necessary tasks, the decision at the end is really how much youre willing to spend.
